Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner lost his pick for Deputy Treasury Secretary Thursday, when top candidate Annette Nazareth withdrew her name.
Nazareth had been through several rounds of interviews and vetting, but was never named as an official candidate for the position.
The Deputy Secretary manages lower-level staff in the Treasury Department and is seen as a key administration figure yet to be confirmed.
