President Obama celebrated the completion of 7% of his term in office by saying that “we’ve begun the work of remaking America.”
WHAT?!
The powers of a President (and his “we”) do not include “remaking America” (no matter what FDR seemed to believe). Nowhere in the Constitution (that Obama promised to preserve and defend) is the President given the ability to “remake” anything. Lawmaking, which is the closest thing to remaking that is outlined in the Constitution, is reserved for the Legislative branch.
So I want to know…what are we being remade into? Which nations are superior to the U.S. that we’re modeling ourselves after? China? Canada? “England?” France?
