Being Pro-Life a Crime; Being an Illegal Immigrant Not

She just can’t keep her mouth shut.

Janet Napolitano came out Sunday on CNN with further proof she hasn’t read the Constitution.

From The Heritage Foundation,

On Sunday, April 19, 2009, Secretary Napolitano went on CNN’s “State of the Union” and proclaimed that crossing the border illegally is not a crime. This statement left a lot of folks scratching their heads given that U.S. law—the law Napolitano is sworn to uphold—says quite the opposite. Section 8, Title 1325 of the U.S. code clearly states that those who enter the U.S. illegally are committing a crime.

This ‘interpretation’ of the law by Secretary Napolitano seems to be the latest in an effort by the Obama Administration to scale back interior immigration enforcement efforts in the United States. As recently as March 28th, Napolitano made the decision to delay a series of immigration raids and other workplace actions aimed at finding illegal workers. At the same time, both President Obama and Secretary Napolitano have announced new initiatives intending to send the message that they take the issues at the southern border seriously. But the Administration cannot fight cartels while ignoring illegal immigration—people smuggling is part of the problem, not a separate issue. Legalization will only make matters worse. Granting the people here illegally asylum will only encourage more illegal border crossing. Likewise, failing to enforce workplace and immigration laws will only encourage more to ignore the law.

Secretary Napolitano’s job is to follow and enforce the law—not to use her authority to undermine it.

“Obama Spending vs Spending Cuts”

A speck, that’s what it is.

Thanks to The Heritage Foundation for the powerful visual.

According to reports, President Barack Obama plans to convene his Cabinet for the first time today, where he will order members to identify a combined $100 million in budget cuts over the next 90 days. Just how laughable is Obama’s latest stunt to try to maintain his “fiscal responsibility” credentials? This graphic from Heritage’s John Fleming  might help:

Harvard University economics professor Greg Mankiw’s comments:

To put those numbers in perspective, imagine that the head of a household with annual spending of $100,000 called everyone in the family together to deal with a $34,000 budget shortfall. How much would he or she announce that spending had to be cut? By $3 over the course of the year–approximately the cost of one latte at Starbucks. The other $33,997? We can put that on the family credit card and worry about it next year.”

“Obama to Address Credit Card Abuses”

I saw this headline and was sure it was referring to Obama returning fraudulent contributions made to his presidential campaign.

Just kidding.

The “addressing” has to do with government wielding more power over the interest rates charged by private financial companies who issue credit cards to consenting adults.

Americans still haven’t gotten- and surely never will- an audit of Obama’s illegal contributions.

Methinks “campaign finance reform” is all talk and no show.

Tea Parties Don’t Play Favorites

Equal-opportunity protesting went on at this week’s Tea Parties.

Left, Right, Democrat, Republican, governors, senators, federal and state representatives, the President- if you deserved to be called out for spending, taxing, growing deficits and generational theft, you got it.

Michelle Malkin outlines the pies thrown at the Right and great video below.

California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger booed at Sacramento Tea Party: White and Republican.

California GOP chairman Ron Nehring booed at Sacramento Tea Party: White and Republican.

Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Sens. Orrin Hatch, and Bob Bennett all booed at Salt Lake City Tea Party: White and Republican.

Rep. Gresham Barrett booed at Greenville SC Tea Party: White and Republican.

Reality doesn’t fit Hollywood’s narrative — or left-wing academia’s. Must be lovely to live life immunized from the truth.

News Ladies with a Bias

They call this reporting?!

Unbelievable bullying by a CNN reporter who plays victim at the Chicago Tea Party.  She then throws it back to the CNN anchor after ripping dominant competitor Fox News and calling it “not family viewing.”  The anchor also shows her disdain for dissent against the Obama administration and the out-of-control spending.

I am beyond stunned.  I didn’t see this reporter at the event.  She’s lucky.

It’s titled “CNN Reporter Harassed.”  I think you’ll see it’s the other way around.

Later, Fox News Anchor Shep Smith responds.  Hilarious.

Scenes From the Chicago Tea Party

Just got back to the hotel from the Great Chicago Tea Party.  Several thousand people came out and it was an inspiring event.  Mancow and Jonathan Hoenig from capitalistpig.com spoke, among others.

People were excited, united,  and I can’t wait to see the photos pour in from other events as well.

Reports from friends of more than 300 attending the Eau Claire, WI Tea Party.  Way to go!

Here are some shots from Chicago.  Send me your photos at patriotburr@gmail.com
