The committee is set to meet on May 7 at 10 a.m. at FCC headquarters; the meeting will be open to the public.

Rivera got the gig heading up this racial grumble group because he has long championed the concept of “media diversity.”
The proponents of station owner affirmative action are the same Leftists who were so ardently in favor of reinstating the Doctrine. One can thusly be forgiven for seeing this as an alternative route for the Left to reach their long-sought original destination – the silencing of conservative and Christian talk radio via governmental regulatory fiat.
And it’s not just our imagination – it’s also our lying eyes. The Center for American Progress is a left-wing hack outfit headed by former Clinton Administration and Obama Transition Team adviser John Podesta. And they released on January 22, 2007 a report entitled “Local Media Diversity Matters – Measure Media Diversity According to Democratic Values, Not Market Values.”
The name of the report is right up this Committee’s alley and instantaneously gives any sensible person the Willies. So anti-free market a title is but a prelude – the recommendations are a series of assaults on the broadcast industry so as to effect their desired ideological outcome – less conservatives on the air.
Many on the Left see the media pantheon as fraught with racism and sexism. And of course the airwaves are dominated by ideological monopol-ism. There are too many white men owning too many radio and television stations that broadcast too many conservatives to suit liberal tastes.
They truly believe the former is the only possible explanation for the latter. The existence of Laura Ingraham, Monica Crowley, Tammy Bruce and other un-white males in the talk radio universe fails to persuade them. Neither does the ratings argument – thems that get the ratings get the airwaves. Conservatives have listeners; liberals do not.
According to the Left, these white male station owners don’t put conservatives on the air because they make them money, they put them on the air because they are conservatives. The anti-free speech/anti-free marketeers remain as always steadfastly impervious to facts.
If at first you can’t compete, run to to the government and cry “DIVERSITY!”

The lying from Chris Dodd. The threats from Barney Frank. The false indignation from Nancy Pelosi. The blaming of Obama. The anger at Geithner. Knocking the Federal Reserve.
It’s just fun to sit back and watch the Democrats destroy each other.

They didn’t just hate Bush, and they don’t now love America because of Obama, despite his attempts to appease or “unclench his fist.”

Some countries in Europe are doing just that. They’re allowing themselves to be taken over.
France, Britain and even Italy, have set up government-sanctioned sharia courts. They’ve “welcomed” diversity, by welcoming extremist imams and their followers to set up mosques, communities and a new way of life inside their own borders.
How’s that going?
Just last month, Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders was sent home immediately upon his arrival in the U.K. Wilders had traveled to show his newly-released documentary film on Muslim extremism. British officials declared it “hate speech” and wouldn’t allow his visit.
The L.A. Times reported in 2006 on how British converts to the Muslim religion are some of the most radical in the world. Take South London’s Brixton mosque, for example. It was
“once the home of Richard Reid, the British-born would-be “shoe bomber” who was himself a convert, and Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui, now serving a life sentence in the U.S.”
The French government gave in to the riots of young Muslims to install Sharia law.
Muslim immigrants- legal and illegal- have a much higher birth rate than the native French, causing the growth in Muslim population to threaten complete cultural transformation of the country.

Some hospitals and health groups in Madison, WI, announced Tuesday they would be expanding free medical services to “children who are not documented citizens.”
In case you need help with that, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.
Of course, anyone who points that out is cruel, because “it’s for the children.”
But it’s the “children,” along with their illegal immigrant parents, who have bankrupted the schools, emergency rooms, and welfare programs of many of our United States.

President Obama announced Monday he’s overturning the ban on federal funding for fetal stem cell research, which was put in place under President Bush.
Despite the recent and overwhelming scientific research concluding that adult stem cells are successfully used in place of fetal stem cells, Obama soldiers on with his promise to destroy human embryos for the sake of “science.”
One reason this is such a priority for the liberal Obama Administration?
This policy further solidifies the belief that these “unwanted” embryos aren’t really human life. If the public can be convinced that research on embryos is ok, then abortion- at least at such an early stage- also must be ok.
From CBS News, House Republican Leader John Boehner said the president’s repeal of the ban,
“runs counter to President Obama’s promise to be a president for all Americans. For a third time in his young presidency, the president has rolled back important protections for innocent life, further dividing our nation at a time when we need greater unity to tackle the challenges before us.”
As Rush Limbaugh pointed out Monday, Obama has no problem changing a laundry list of Bush-era policies, yet the President claims no responsibility for- or power over- the 8,600 earmark-packed,$410 Billion Omnibus Spending Bill.
The White House has said that the $410 Billion bill is leftover from the past administration, but that Obama will work hard to curb spending in the future.
Huh?
It’s with Obama’s own hand and his own pen that this thing will get signed. If the President is really opposed to earmarks, and if he wants to be taken at his word to “go line by line,” then he’d veto this wasteful spending!
So, Mexico City policy, Guantanamo Bay, union-strengthening, health care for adults and illegals, and fetal stem cell research the President can reverse.
But not money for odor control studies or tattoo removal programs.

The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg went on a rant Friday about “Getting it comin’ and goin’,” referring to all the new taxes being suggested or imposed by federal, state, and local governments.
Goldberg said she doesn’t mind paying a little more because she makes a good living, but feels like she and others want to stick their heads out the window- ala the movie “Network“- to scream,
“I’m mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take it anymore!“

The charismatic host joins a growing group of people surprised to find that President Barack Obama, voted the most liberal member of the United States Senate, is advocating higher taxes and far-left policies.

The San Diego County Water Authority is encouraging residents to keep watch on their neighbors’ water use.
Neighbors can report incidents of what they deem to be inappropriate water use, such as leaky sprinklers or more-frequent-than-recommended lawn watering.
Door-hanger cards are being distributed, so county residents can anonymously leave warnings for bad behavior on their neighbors’ front doors.
